QuoVadis is Founding Member of Bermuda Institute of Internal Auditors
7 Oct 2002

Security and compliance professionals from a wide-range of Bermudian companies, including QuoVadis, have formed a local chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

The IIA is an international organisation established in 1941, with more than 75,000 members in over 120 countries dedicated to the leadership and practice of internal audit.

Trevor Brookes, Internal Audit Director at XL Capital and President of the new IIA Bermuda chapter, said, “The recently enacted Sarbanes-Oxley legislation in the United States has increased the importance and role of Internal Audit by mandating a series of corporate governance reforms and new financial reporting requirements. Companies in Bermuda trade on their reputation and set high standards for themselves in corporate accountability. IIA Bermuda will provide the island’s internal audit community with access to global best practices on security and governance, international compliance standards, and a vast network of peer professionals”.

Founding members of IIA Bermuda include professionals from Ernst & Young, QuoVadis, the Bermuda Government, the Bank of Bermuda, the Bank of Butterfield, Capital G, Deloitte & Touche, KPMG, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Tony Nagel, CEO of QuoVadis, said "The internal audit role has become an important authority in most companies, and we are pleased to work with the members of IIA Bermuda to evaluate and manage the digital risks faced by their businesses."
