Personal Certificate Classes

QuoVadis issues the following broad categories of End User digital certificates (defined in greater detail in the relevant CP/CPS):

 QV Standard Meets or exceeds the requirements of the ETSI Lightweight Certificate Policy (LCP).  Low Optional
 QV Advanced Based on the ETSI Normalised Certificate Policy (NCP). Features face-to-face (or equivalent) authentication of holder identity and organisational affiliation (if included).  Medium Optional
 QV Advanced+   Similar to the “QV Advanced” policy issued on a Secure Cryptographic Device (SCD). Enabled for signatures in Adobe Acrobat.  High Yes
 QV Closed Community Used for reliance by members of the Issuer community only. Policies are defined in the CP/CPS of the Issuing CA.  Medium Optional
QV Device
Issued for devices, including Domain Controller and Code Signing certificates.  Medium Optional

QuoVadis issues certificates that comply with eIDAS (EU Regulation N°910/2014), electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market).

QV Qualified: Natural Person  Conforms to the ETSI Qualified EN 319 412-2 policy issued to a natural person (QCP-n), used for advanced electronic signature.  High No
QV Qualified: Natural Person - QCSD Conforms to the ETSI Qualified EN 319 412-2 policy issued to a natural person (QCP-n-qscd) on a Qualified Signature Creation Device (QSCD), used for qualified electronic signature. Enabled for signatures in Adobe Acrobat.  High Yes

QuoVadis supports the use of SAN fields in End User certificates (RFC822, Microsoft GUID, OtherName, and UPN).
